Education Department

St Raphael’s Hospice organises a range of study days and conferences for health professionals including GP’s, District Nurses and staff from local Nursing Homes, all designed to help increase awareness and understanding of palliative (end of life) care. They are usually held at the St Bedes Conference Centre, a modern well equipped building (just behind St Raphael’s Hospice), London Road, North Cheam SM3 9DX. There is also good parking available.

3-DAY FOUNDATIONS IN PALLIATIVE CARE 2011

This course offers an introduction to the basic principles and symptom management to those wishing to learn, update or simply develop their existing approach to caring for terminally ill patients. The principles learnt can be applied to all dying patients regardless of diagnosis and will be of interest to all professionals working in this care setting including Practice, District, Community and Care Home Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and other allied healthcare professionals.
