Ways to offer your support

Firstly, a really big 'THANK YOU' to all the individuals and organisations who support the Hospice by organising and taking part in fundraising activities. We have to raise over £3 million every year from charitable fundraising, donations and legacies, and we could not run the hospice without the help from a huge number of people. We are grateful to you all.

In the “Ways to offer your support” section of the website, we have tried to include all the possible ways you could assist St Raphael’s. But if we have missed anything, please let me know!

As a locally based charity, serving a fairly small area, we have advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side, there are a great many local people who know about St Raphael’s and the hospice services we offer because they know, or have known, one of the 900 patients we support each year. And in over 23+ years, we have helped more than 10,000 local people and their families.

On the other side of the coin, we need to raise over £3 million a year, every year, mainly from a fairly small geographical area – the London Borough of Sutton and the London Borough of Merton. We do of course receive donations from people elsewhere, primarily because friends and relatives of our patients give all over the UK, indeed all over the world. But the majority of our funds are raised from local support.

If you would like to donate, or organise a fundraising event, or support in one of the other ways mentioned on this website please do not hesitate to contact me or one of my colleagues in here fundraising at St Raphael’s.

Please always use the Gift Aid Scheme when donating (see link above to print a gift aid form). This is because the value of any donation to charity from an individual who pays UK income tax or capital gains tax, is automatically increased  25%  at no additional cost to you.  And you only need to send us this form once.

And if you are able to, please consider becoming a Regular Donor by setting up a Bank Standing Order for  regular  contribution. Many supporters choose a special date, such as a birthday,  anniversary or other special date as the date of an annual donation. Or choose the six monthly, quarterly or monthly options, whatever is convenient for you. A regular donation Bankers Order form can be printed from the above link.
