Giving a donation is probably the simplest way for you to help make a difference at St Raphael’s Hospice.
Make a Donation to St Raphael's Hospice
Every gift makes a real difference and we can usually reclaim income or capital gains tax paid on your donation through Gift Aid. As St Raphael’s Hospice spends such a high proportion of its income directly on the care we give, you can be sure that your gift, large or small, will have a direct effect on the care our patients receive.
Ways to donate to St Raphael’s Hospice:
- On-line by Credit or Debit-Card
- By Cheque or CAF Voucher. Please send donations to: the Tobit Fundraising Office, St Raphael's Hospice, London Road, North Cheam, Sutton, Surrey SM3 9DX. Please remember to provide your name and address and to provide any special information, for example how the money was raised.
- In memoriam. Following the loss of a loved one, many families choose to request donations to the Hospice in lieu of flowers. Donations of this kind can be sent to our offices and should state the name of the person who is being remembered in this way.
- By Direct Debit. Regular, committed giving by Direct Debit is of enormous value to us as it enables us to plan ahead. We welcome regular gifts of any amount and can usually reclaim tax paid in the United Kingdom through Gift Aid.
- By Direct Payment from your bank. You may wish to instruct your bank to make a payment direct to our account.
The details are as follows:- Account Name: St Raphael’s Hospice Fund
- Registered Charity Number: 1068661
- Worcester Park Branch
- A/c No: 03060586 Sort Code: 60-24-28
- Please do let us know if you are making a donation in this way by emailing fundraising@straphaels.org.uk so that we can thank you for your gift. If you are a tax payer, please don't forget to complete and return a Gift Aid Declaration.
- Payroll giving. Many employers operate payroll giving schemes that allow people to make automatic, regular gifts to charity from their salary. This is particularly tax efficient as no tax is paid on the donation and, in the United Kingdom, the Government adds 10% to your gift. Please check with your employer to find out if they operate a Payroll Giving scheme. Company Matched Giving is operated by many large companies who agree to match any charitable donation made by their employees up to a maximum amount.
Gift Aid
Gift Aid plays a significant part in financing the efforts of the Hospice. At no extra cost to you, we are able to recover a further 28p for every £1 you donate. So, for a gift of £500 we stand to gain an additional £140, providing you are a UK taxpayer and the amount of tax you pay exceeds the amount that you would like the hospice to claim.
For us to claim the tax on your donations you need to complete a Gift Aid Declaration and return it to us at the Tobit Fundraising Department.
