Current Opportunities

We have a dedicated team of over 230 generous volunteers helping our patients, their relatives and our staff in the hospice. Many more volunteers take an active role in our charity shops and in the wider community.

We currently have vacancies for the following volunteer roles:

Hospice Neighbours:

These volunteers visit patients in their own homes, offering a few hours of their time each week to act as a good neighbour would. They share interests, are a non judgemental listening ear, provide practical support that can make all the difference and enable carers to have a break.

Café Volunteers:

To work in our vibrant café in both the preparation area and server counter. These volunteers prepare and cook food, serve customers and operate the till.

Drivers:

These volunteers are responsible for the care and comfort of patients on their journeys to and from our day centre and/or outpatient appointments using either their own car or the hospice minibus.

Flower Arrangers:

These volunteers create and develop attractive flower arrangements within the hospice for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff.

Gardeners:

These volunteers are needed on an ad hoc basis to carry out general garden maintenance, pot plants at certain times of the year and keep the garden areas hydrated.

Chiropodists:

These volunteers are qualified chiropodists who help maintain good foot health for inpatients and those attending our day centre by providing chiropody services to improve their comfort and mobility.

Fundraising Administrators:

These volunteers help with a variety of tasks such as data cleansing, letter writing and helping our Events Manager.

Charity Shop Volunteers:

Please enquire either by telephone or in person to the shop in which you wish to work. A list of all our shops and their respective  contact details can be found on the Fundraising page.

Warehouse Operatives:
