St Raphael’s are delighted to announce the opening of its charity shop at 7 High Street in Wimbledon Village.

The MP for Wimbledon, Stephen Hammond, cut the ribbon at the opening on Friday October 2nd. Sara Jane Woods, Director of Income Generation at St Raphael’s, said: “We are the Hospice for Wimbledon so it is great news that we can now be visible to our community with the presence of this new shop in the village. Our Retail Team have been working hard to give the shop a boutique style makeover and we hope our customers will enjoy this new shopping experience”.

“Our staff and customers safety is very important to us and as we do in all our shops we will ask customers to use the hand sanitizer and wear a face covering where possible. All our shops will operate a one-way system and customer numbers will be limited at any one time.”

It costs £6 million per year to provide all the services St Raphael’s offer. Around 25% of this comes from the NHS, leaving the hospice with more than £4 million to raise. Sara Jane Woods added: “This new shop in Wimbledon will contribute to running the Hospice and providing compassionate end of life care. It will also be a beacon for our community, raising awareness of our organisation and those who need access to our services”.

“We would like to thank all our shops visitors and our community for their on-going support.”

St Raphael’s rely on the generosity of the public to donate their pre-loved items to raise funds for the Hospice. We are now able to offer a quarantine-safe way for people to do so. If you have items you would like to donate to the Wimbledon Village store or any of our shops please call 020 8337 3578 to find out more. For volunteering opportunities, if you had as little as four hours a week to spare to make a difference please contact Lorraine on 020 8254 2453.

You can visit the new St Raphael’s shop Monday - Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
