Help Us Open Our Shops

We need an army of volunteers to get our shops ready to open when lockdown is lifted.

As you know, our shops have sadly been closed for almost a year now and our retail staff furloughed. We need your help to get us ready to welcome the public back to our stores on April 12th. This is our opportunity to make up some of our lost income and turn the mountains of wonderful lockdown donations, into hours of nursing care.

You do not require any experience just a sense of adventure and the ability to have fun. We will give you all the training you need, provide PPE and guidance on how to stay safe. We may be in a position to offer you a Lateral Flow COVID test prior to your shift, which will add to your security, that of our staff and other volunteers.

You can volunteer for a full day, half day or more! See the different role descriptions below. We are offering short-term volunteering opportunities as well as roles that can be carried out for longer or on a more regular basis. In fact, we would absolutely love for you to be part of our team long-term.

If you would like to have a chat about what this opportunity involves please do give our Supporter Care Team a call on 020 8254 2450. Otherwise, complete the registration form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible to get you up and running. We want to be ready to start our army before the end of March.

What’s in it for you?

  • A chance to meet others and connect with people (in person!)
  • Know that you are doing something worthwhile to get your community back on its feet after the pandemic
  • Gain experience and knowledge of the retail sector
  • Paid travel and lunch
  • A staff discount
  • Unique volunteer T-shirt

Due to many of our sites being restricted in space, there are limited opportunities which will be given on a first come first serve basis.

Amidst the first wave of the COVID-19 crisis we made 6 additional beds available to ease capacity for the NHS whilst continuing to support all patients, both in our in-patient unit and in their own homes, in challenging and rapidly changing circumstances. The challenge is financial as well as clinical. We expect that our income may drop by as much as £1.4m this financial year compared to last year. Please help by donating today, by making a regular donation or by joining our lottery. Thank you
