Charity of the Year Partnerships
We have a number of clubs, organisations and businesses who nominate St Raphael's as their Charity of the Year or who choose to give on-going support. These partnerships really do raise a huge amount for the charity and are a great way to get staff and members together to back a cause close to their hearts.
Below are just a few examples of how some organisations have been able to fundraise for us. If you would like to know more about how you can be involved, please complete the form or call 020 8254 2450.
Carshalton Park Rotary Club
Carshalton Park Rotary Club will be hosting their 4th Annual Charity Golf Day with profits going to support the work of St Raphael's Hospice. Last year, they raised some £3,500 and are looking to raise even more this time around. Over the past year we have developed a fantastic relationship with the Golf Day committee who have themselves been affected by the work of the hospice. We are very much looking forward to this year's event. Thank you to all involved.
Surrey Downs Golf Club
Captain Robert Willers has kindly nominated St Raphael's as his charity of the year due to some of his close friends receiving care here. Their main fundraising event is the Captains Charity Day which, this year, will be held in September but they are also raising money throughout the year in other ways. For example, their St George's Day competition where everybody has to wear red. We are very much looking forward to working alongside Surrey Downs throughout the coming year and thank you once again for choosing to support us.
St Raphael’s are pleased to be partnering with the Halifax branches in Worcester Park, Wimbledon and New Malden. We have been very impressed already at their hard work in fundraising for us through volunteering at Sunflower Collections and in our shops, plus selling merchandise in the branches and pushing themselves with some great running challenges! Thank you for your support.
St Raphael's have been Sainsbury's Merton's Charity of the Year and are so appreciative of all the hard work that the store's staff and customers have put in to their fundraising. Since 2013 the Merton Sainsbury's has helped to raise £4,722 for the hospice through bucket collections, sale of Christmas items, collection cans on tills and in memory donations. Thank you so much for all that you have done to support St Raphael's.
St Raphael's Hospice is very close to the hearts of the AIG staff and they have been organising dress down days to raise funds. So far they have raised £525.
Cigna Insurance Services
Cigna Insurance Services (Europe) Limited, the insurer behind many well-known travel and other insurance products, have held many activities to support the hospice at its Sutton headquarters. Back in 2013 they marked a company name change with a day of fundraising where staff participated in a number of health related activities including a health check-up, mini sports day, auction and quiz which raised a grand total of £1,556.00 for St. Raphael’s Hospice.
Sheelagh McCarthy, Deputy Director of Fundraising and Communications, said: “I’d like to thank Cigna & all their staff for this generous donations. We’re extremely thankful for their help and are very excited that they have appointed us their local charity.”
Cigna have continued to support St Raphael's over the past few years through a variety of fundraising activities and we hope to continue are partnership with them for much longer.
