Our lottery offers a weekly prize of £1,000 and a rollover prize of up to £10,000, but as well as the chance of winning, people often say to the Hospice that they like to know exactly where their money is going, and what it is achieving.

St Raphael’s Hospice provides exceptional palliative and end-of-life care to the residents of the boroughs of Sutton and Merton. The Hospice needs £6 million a year to run, relying heavily on public donations to keep going year after year.


St Raphael’s Lottery has raised over £4 million, since its launch in 2001. It is one of the popular ways of supporting a worthwhile local cause. We currently have just over 6,300 members who contribute in to our weekly draws and approximately 40% of our members have two weekly numbers. Read some of our lucky winners’ stories.


How St Raphael’s Hospice Lottery works

When you join the St Raphael’s Hospice weekly lottery you will be allocated a unique number, for each entry which remains yours for as long as you wish. You can have as many unique numbers as you like. The lucky winners are chosen at random every Friday by an Independent Bureau. Winners will receive their prize cheque in the post the following week.


Prize structure:

  • 1st prize £1,000
  • 2nd prize £200 (rollover of up to £10,000)
  • 3rd prize £100
  • 4th prize £50
  • 15 x £10 prizes


How much it costs:

1 entry per week                                                           

  • £52.00 every year
  • £26.00 every 26 weeks (half-yearly)
  • £13.00 every 13 weeks (quarterly)
  • £4.34 every month


2 entries per week

  • £104.00 every year
  • £52.00 every 26 weeks (half-yearly)
  • £26.00 every 13 weeks (quarterly)
  • £8.68 every month

How to join:

To support the St Raphael's Hospice Lottery, please contact its coordinator, Glenda Withall on 020 8254 2457 for an application form or download a secure direct debit form here. This will need to be completed and returned by post to St Raphael’s Hospice Lottery, London Road, North Cheam, Sutton, Surrey SM3 9DX.


On-line direct debit is the most efficient way for the hospice to collect a regular payment from members of the lottery. The recommended frequency of payment is annual, as that keeps our admin costs to a minimum, but we also offer six-monthly and monthly as options. By setting up annual direct debit, you will also receive a St Raphael’s soft toy, Lenny or Lottie.


Standing Orders

We do still accept Standing Orders. For this method of payment please print the form, complete and send back to us by post with your preferred payment option. Again, we ask our supporters to pay by ANNUAL direct debit if possible for the reasons mentioned above.
