Thank you to all the individuals and organisations who support the Hospice by organising and taking part in fundraising activities. We have to raise over £2.5 million every year from charitable fundraising, donations and legacies, and we could not do this without the help from a huge number of people, some of whom are featured here. We are grateful to you all.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOPPING EXTRAVAGANZA

christmas APPEALS 2008

Appeals Logo

There are currently two appeals running to raise funds for St Raphael's Hospice. Our Annual "Light up a Life" Appeal which enables supporters to make a donation in memory of friends and loved ones. Every individual to whom a donation is dedicated will be remembered at our annual Carol Services when the Christmas Tree lights are turned on, and all their names will be printed in a special commemorative programme distributed at the Carol Service. This year the Appeal has been made on behalf of St Raphael's by Penny Smith, Broadcaster and TV Newsreader at GMTV.

Secondly, we have Rachel's Appeal. Staff Nurse Rachel Paine, who works at St Raphael's Hospice explains the work our doctors and nurses do, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year - and invites donations to help this work continue.

FIREWALK 2009

FIREWALK 2009 - How cool are you?
Register now for 4th February event

Does the thought of walking bearfoot over burning embers at a temprature of over 1200 degrees farenheit make you feel slightly overheated?

Well not only is it possible, it is achievable AND enjoyable, and in doing so you will be helping to raise much needed funds for local charity St Raphael's Hospice.   The hospice supports over 900 terminally ill patients from the local area each year and relies on charitable donations & fundraising for over 70% of its annual costs.

The walk is just 20ft long, so it's probably the shortest sponsored walk you will ever do! It is professionally managed, there is full support both before and on the day of the walk. It's open to all ages  16+ and is being held on Wednesday 4th February 2009 in the grounds of the hospice at London Road, North Cheam

There is a £25 registration fee, and participants are then asked to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship from family & friends.

For more information and a registration pack contact Marian Clarke 020 8335 4652  or 020 8335 4576 or email fundraising@straphaels.org.uk

FlowersGifts in lieu of celebratory occasions

Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings... Now this is truly selfless, but for those who already have everything they might want or need, you may wish to consider asking for donations to the Hospice to be made in Lieu of presents. You may wish to insert the following phrase into the invitations for your special anniversary party...

'In lieu of gifts we would appreciate contributions to St Raphael's Hospice.'
