Director of Fundraising for St Raphael’s Hospice, Keith Witham, says “Thank you to all the individuals and organisations who support the Hospice by organising and taking part in fundraising activities. We have to raise over £2.5 million every year from charitable fundraising, donations and legacies, and we could not do this without the help from a huge number of people, some of whom are featured here. We are grateful to you all.

WHERE THERE'S A WILL ...

... SOLICITORS LAUNCH "MAKE YOUR WILL FORTNIGHT 2008"

24 firms of local solicitors have agreed to support St Raphael's Hospice by offering to write basic wills free of charge, in return for a donation to the Hospice.

Some participating Solicitors

In the photo are three of the solicitors taking part (left to right) Holly Wright from Brand & Co in North Cheam; Rebecca Barr from TWM Solicitors in Wimbledon and Andrew Findlay from Chapmans in Sutton.

The solicitors are all giving their time and expertise free of charge to raise funds for the charity during "make you WILL Fortnight" which will be  12th to 23rd May. Any member of the public can contact any of the participating firms of solicitors to make an appointment to have a basic will prepared.

Last year the scheme raised over £13,000 in donations for the hospice, and St Raphael's Fundraising Director, Keith Witham, said: "We are delighted that so many local solicitors are able to take part in the scheme. Most of the population have not made a will, but it is important to do so, and doing it this way means you will be supporting your local hospice charity as well"

FlowersGifts in lieu of celebratory occasions

Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings... Now this is truly selfless, but for those who already have everything they might want or need, you may wish to consider asking for donations to the Hospice to be made in Lieu of presents. You may wish to insert the following phrase into the invitations for your special anniversary party...

'In lieu of gifts we would appreciate contributions to St Raphael's Hospice.'
