"In a little envelope put the price of a pie or cake or something nice,
Without a a fuss or bother you have done your part,
and I hope you will give with a willing heart."

Our special resident volunteer, Sister Ann, has been running Bereavement Support Groups throughout the year. She has naturally built wonderful and supportive friendships, where the groups get together for social gatherings and lovely lunches.

With Christmas fast approaching, a difficult time for those grieving, Sister Ann independently organised a group lunch before the new year arrives. During the lunch, with a twinkle in her eye, Sister Ann put forward the idea of a “bakeless bake sale” in honour of the Hospice. A Christmas fundraising donation through her group became a wonderful way for the support received from the Hospice to come full circle.

To Sister Ann’s surprise, the generosity of her group raised an incredible amount of £520 for St Raphael’s!

We thank this special group for their generosity and a big thank you to Sister Ann for the joy, determination and creativity she brings to this volunteering role.
