I worked for forty years in Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration, initially in the quality control of seismic data and later as the offshore Manager of a seismic vessel. 

After 13 years I moved onshore as a Marine Operations Manager, becoming experienced in the survey planning, data acquisition, financial control, management of personnel and provision of support logistics. During my final 12 years I became Marine HSE Manager (Health, Safety and Environment) with responsibility to ensure company’s vessels met strict HSE & Quality policies, procedures and compliance within the International Ships Safety Management Code.

On a personal level, I have been a Governor at a local Girl’s Secondary School for 14 years, with six of those years serving as Chair. Since retiring in 2014, I have been Vice-chair / Chairman of a local Male Voice Choir.
