Local GP takes on an Ultra Challenge for the Hospice! Dr Tim Hodgson from the Wimbledon Village Practice has decided to embark on an incredible challenge that will take him all the way around the Isle of Wight! Tim is a local doctor who has been serving the community of Merton for the last 16 years having trained at George's Hospital and qualifying in 1999. In 2012, he began his fundraising efforts by running the London Marathon and 10 years on, he is taking his brave feats and feets even further!As part of the Ultra Challenge Series which include 14 unforgettable events in some of the most beautiful locations in the country, he has decided to embark on 106 km run all the way around the Isle of Wight! He says: "Given my continued close working with St Raphael's on an almost daily basis, I wanted to use the run as an excuse to raise some money. Many of my patients have first-hand experience of what St Raphael's do for the Merton Community.Support at the end of someone's life is incredibly complex and St Raphael's have been a tower of strength locally for decades. Whilst I am physically able to take on new challenges, I will do so and if some good can come out of it, all the better." On 30 April 2023, Dr Tim completed the 106km coastal run raising over £26,000!
