On May 19th, we will be launching The Living Well Programme as part of our Wellbeing offer, which focuses on health promotion and wellbeing in an informal, friendly environment.

The eight-week self-management course can be accessed by anyone over the age of eighteen living with or caring for someone with a life limiting, progressive or chronic illness.

Sessions include topics such as nutrition, how to improve sleep, relaxation, management of breathlessness and anxiety, as well as information about benefits, other practical support and an opportunity to socialise.

Rebecca Trower, our Clinical Director, said: “We are aware how easy it is to feel isolated and disconnected from everyday things when you are not feeling at your best. It can also be difficult to find the services that will support you and those that are important to you when you are living with illness. Our new programme aims to empower people to live their life to the fullest.”

Sheila, Simon and Katie, the Wellbeing Centre team, have been working hard in preparation for the launch and are inviting the public to drop into St Raphael’s Wellbeing Centre on Wednesday, 19th May. Please feel free to drop in at anytime between 10am to 4pm to find out more.

There will be stalls to visit, as well as refreshments provided. The event is going to be run in line with the current Covid guidance to ensure staff and visitor safety.
