What are the routes? Expand The routes for the Lavender Walk are 4 miles or 8 miles and are currently being confirmed.
Where is the registration point? Expand Registration is at Mayfield Lavender Farm, 1 Carshalton Road, Banstead, SM7 3JA by the white gazebo’s.
What time do I need to register? Expand Registration opens at 9am and you need to have registered by 9.50am.
How do I collect my t-shirt? Expand You will be able to collect your t-shirt at our Wellbeing Centre during one of our t-shirt collection dates. If for any reason you are unable to make these we can post out your t-shirt to you.
When are the t-shirt Collections? Expand We have two t-shirt collection dates this year and they will be held in our Wellbeing Centre on: Wednesday 7 June at 17.00-19.00Saturday 17 June at 11.00-14.00 London RoadCheamSuttonSM3 9DX
Can I collect a friend’s t-shirt? Expand Yes of course, just bring a copy of their confirmation email along with you.
Will there be first aid facilities? Expand Yes, we will have 2 qualified first aiders there on the day, one will be mobile so you will see them cycling round on the route.
Will it be safe? Expand Your safety is of the utmost importance to us. The event has been organised in conjunction with local authorities and the route will be well marshalled by volunteers. An end walker will also follow the last walkers to ensure that nobody is left behind. All walkers will sign in and out on the day to make sure everyone is safe. Please ensure your phone is fully charged on the day.
What do I need to take with me? Expand To make sure you are safe we recommend you carry the following items: A fully charged mobile phone Plenty of water Plenty of energy supplying snacks Hand sanitiser – to use after coming in to contact with public gates/ handrails Method of payment if you need more water/ snacks or a taxi home Water-proof coat/ jacket Decent walking shoes/trainers
Will there be toilets on the route? Expand Yes! There will be plenty of toilets at the registration point – you can use these before the start and at the end of the walk. There will be an additional stop on the route.
Will there be any refreshments? Expand There will be a water stop on route along with some extra snacks to keep you going.
Will there be parking? Expand There will be limited parking within the Mayfield Lavender Farm, but there will also be some space available in the Oaks Park carpark, which is opposite the Fields. Please consider being dropped off, use public transport or car sharing with family members.
Will it go ahead if it is raining? Expand Yes! As the British weather is notoriously unpredictable, please do keep an eye on the weather forecast and come dressed in suitable clothing. The walk will only be cancelled if we think it will be too unsafe for you to take part. In the rare occurrence that this is the case, we will contact you by phone and email as soon as we know the event is cancelled.

Do I have to raise sponsorship money? Expand This event is a chance for you to remember your loved ones and for you to raise vital fund for your local hospice. We encourage all walkers to raise sponsorship to support our nurses and clinical staff working exceptionally hard continue our vital care. New to 2023 We have an exciting opportunity for you to be with the chance of receiving an exclusive Lavender Hoodie. If you raise £200 or more (per person) you will receive a hoodie. To be able to get one of these, your sponsorship needs to be in before 4 August.

Can I Gift Aid my donation? Expand You can ask each person that sponsors you to Gift Aid their donation by ticking the Gift Aid box on your sponsor form, if they are a UK taxpayer or pay Capital Gains Tax. For every £1 they donate, we receive an extra 25p.
