Charity of the Year 2023 -2024

We are delighted to announce that the Mayor of the London Borough of Sutton, Councillor Colin Stears, has selected St Raphael’s Wellbeing Services as one of his two local charities to support this year. After seeing first-hand the work being done by the local Hospice movement, he nominated our newly-developing Wellbeing Services for his charity appeal, due to the wide-ranging support offered for free to people in the community. We are excited to have been chosen alongside our friends at Volunteer Centre Sutton

St Raphael’s Wellbeing Services Lead, Roisin Yin Poole, shares:

“Our Wellbeing Centre is where the magic happens and we are very grateful that the Mayor of Sutton has chosen us as his ‘Charity of the Year.’ Those who are approaching the end of life, their carers and the bereaved have access to a wide range of wellbeing services that we provide. We deliver a weekly programme of in-house sessions, including art therapy, yoga and music, as well as complementary therapy appointments at our Wellbeing Centre. We are also proud to provide our ‘Compassionate Neighbours’ befriending service. The funds raised by the Mayor will make a huge difference to the wellbeing of so many of our community members.”

An exciting programme of events will take place through the year, bringing our wonderful community together for a worthy cause. The Mayor’s Charity of the Year event programme will include music concerts, quiz nights, Christmas celebrations, to name but a few. The first event to look forward to is the upcoming barbeque party on Saturday, 23 September, which we would love for you to join!
