“In the hospital corridor, Mum shut down. At St Raphael’s, she started joking again. They gave us back the person we knew and loved. This bed changed everything.”
Tony, Marie’s son
Every day, families in our community rely on a bed at St Raphael’s to care for someone they love at the end of life. But today, those beds are at risk.
A donation - big or small - will help us keep every bed open for patients and families who need us today.

You may have seen us recently on BBC Politics London and 5 News, speaking about the hospice funding crisis. Only 18 months ago, we had to make £1 million in cuts to protect frontline care. We still receive just 25% of our funding from the NHS, while costs continue to rise and demand for our services grows.
There is nothing left to trim without affecting patient care. Without sustainable funding, our hospice beds will have to close.
Government capital funding for hospices across the UK has been welcomed, but it is restricted to things like equipment and hospice gardens. It does not pay for nurses, specialist care, or to keep beds open – the very support we rely on to deliver our vital services every day.
That is why we are asking for your support today.
