We’re incredibly proud to share that St Raphael’s Hospice has won the Changemaker Award at the 2026 Blackbaud Impact Awards, recognising the way our team has used technology and innovation to improve how we work and create greater impact for our community.
Our colleague James MacGraw, Data Assistant, has also been recognised as a finalist for the Rising Star Award, celebrating his dedication, contribution and potential within his field.
The Blackbaud Impact Awards recognise organisations and individuals using technology, data and innovation to overcome challenges, improve the way they work and create positive change.
For St Raphael’s, the recognition reflects a significant piece of work to improve our systems and make better use of our data. By changing the way we manage and use information, we’ve been able to save around 60 hours every week and recover £120,000 in Gift Aid – giving us more time and resources to put back into supporting our hospice and the people and families who rely on our care.

Being recognised alongside organisations and individuals from across the social impact sector is a huge achievement for St Raphael’s. We’re particularly proud that the award recognises not only the technology itself, but the people behind it – the colleagues who have challenged the way we work, found better solutions and turned those changes into real benefits for the hospice.
James being named a Rising Star finalist is also a fantastic achievement and something we’re incredibly proud of. The nomination recognises his contribution, dedication and potential, and highlights the incredible talent we have within our team.
